7.3L Powerstroke Turbodiesel, automatic, 4 wheel

Has 153000 miles, runs great, recently serviced.
(most work done at Different Strokes of AK (formerly
Powerstrokes of AK) …recent work includes,
rebuilt front end (2005), water pump, valve cover
gasket (2007), ft driveshaft, alternator, fuel
pump (2008)
It runs and drives well, has an intermittant exhaust
leak(?) makes a noise under certain conditions—sometimes,
not always….usually gets about 11-15 mpg
around town and 18-21 on the highway…about
19-20 if pulling welder trailer.

Temporary space
needed by potential junior musher moving from Bethel
for 8 puppies who are 4 months old and their mother.
Puppies have been family raised so should be friendly
and this would be a great way to help out some very
nice kids and their family. Gabe, the junior musher,
is the young man who had his picture on the front
page of the Eagle River news paper about a year
ago and now the picture is on the outside of the
newspaper dispensers!! Also in the near future they
may be looking for a house to rent or purchase in

BOOTIES WANTED
Several years ago, someone in your association gave
me about 75 booties that were used in the Iditarod
for 2003. I took them as gifts to the Teachers of
the Year for the 50 states. The teachers went wild
over the booties. It was such a great gift. Now
I find that I am going to China to teach in a middle
school for two weeks this summer. As an ambassador,
I’d like to give the students dog booties.
I find that interest is very high for this dog race
throughout the world. Is there someone who would
donate used booties for me to take to China?

Hedlund began building these sleds in the early
1920s. He passed this woodworking tradition on
to my Dad, who in turn taught me. These Sleds
are made from red oak. They are quite beautiful

Urgent need
of help finding homes for three dogs. We live
in Willow and run a very small team of seven dogs.
Apparently a neighbor about a mile from our home
does not like that we have sled dogs and also
knows that the neighborhood that we live in (not
the neighborhood they live in) has CCRs that restrict
the number of dogs we can have to four dogs. Apparently
they have also contacted the SPCA, as we do not
have a kennel license, and they know we can't
get one because of the CCRs. We are in a real
predicament. Two of the dogs are older exact age
is unknown, but we believe they are around 10yrs.
Both dogs came from Butcher's Kennel in Fairbanks.
Both are males. The black Males name is Rock and
was purchased and brought to Alaska from Wisconsin
as a stud, because he throws such beautiful puppies.
Both dogs are Quest finishers, and Rock has several
Iditarods under his belt... He no longer cares
to run hard anymore though. Both dogs are very
sweet and friendly. The third dog is Rock's puppy
and is about six months old... Shots and dewormed.
He is black with white markings on his feet. The
mother is from Wright lines and the mother is
a fabulous runner. The dogs are well fed and cared
for. So I guess bottom line is we have two older
wonderful dogs that don't deserve the pound and
a puppy that will likely make someone a great
sled dog.. We are in desperate need of help finding
homes, can anyone help us.

am a sprinter, so won't work for my team. Person
was in crunch time leaving state and I couldn't
bear to see these animals put down. They are from
great lines and still pretty young. Would work
in race team, or possibly jr musher or even recreational
musher. 1 is 3.5 yrs, decent trail leader, M,
out of Egil Ellis bitch Sandy, 3/8 hound; 2nd
is 4 yrs out of sire Mike (Streeper Lines), M,
does great everywhere, but doesn't like lead,
from Joey Reddington, has experience in NAm, Rondy
& open races, 3/8 hound; 3rd is 1/2 hound,
good leader, from Greg Sullivan (Mushing Mag),
Don't have age offhand, but I think comparable

they are in good health and not ready to retire,

for college soon. Rohn is an Alaskan Husky mix,
