Temporary
space needed by potential junior musher moving from
Bethel for 8 puppies who are 4 months old and their
mother. Puppies have been family raised so should
be friendly and this would be a great way to help
out some very nice kids and their family. Gabe,
the junior musher, is the young man who had his
picture on the front page of the Eagle River news
paper about a year ago and now the picture is on
the outside of the newspaper dispensers!! Also in
the near future they may be looking for a house
to rent or purchase in the Eagle River, Chugiak

BOOTIES WANTED
Several years ago, someone in your association gave
me about 75 booties that were used in the Iditarod
for 2003. I took them as gifts to the Teachers of
the Year for the 50 states. The teachers went wild
over the booties. It was such a great gift. Now
I find that I am going to China to teach in a middle
school for two weeks this summer. As an ambassador,
I’d like to give the students dog booties.
I find that interest is very high for this dog race
throughout the world. Is there someone who would
donate used booties for me to take to China?

A 3 ft push model which the parents like for pushing
their kids in when on a walk. I also have a 5
ft. junior model. Which is used for mushing. And
lastly I have the full size, 8 ft. version which
is used for adult mushing. My Great Uncle Nels
Hedlund began building these sleds in the early
1920s. He passed this woodworking tradition on
to my Dad, who in turn taught me. These Sleds
are made from red oak. They are quite beautiful
and durable. I am very interested in advertising

Due to downsizing our kennel
we have about 8 experienced sled dogs available
for adoption. Although they are all a little older,
they are in good health and not ready to retire,
most can still race. All of them have run mid-distance
races, some have run Iditarod and/or Serum Run.

to find a good home for my son’s dog. We
got him as a puppy for our son and he is leaving
for college soon. Rohn is an Alaskan Husky mix,
born in January 2004. His father ran in the Iditarod
in 2004. Rohn could be a great skijor dog, possibly
a team dog, but we don’t know how well he
will do with a team since he is our only husky.
He has not been trained as of yet, but loves to
pull anything attached to him. We want to find
a good home for him since his master cannot take
