2009/2010 Chugiak Dog Mushers Race Results

18 teams raced in 4 classes in the Chugiak Dog Mushers Mushing 20/36, which took place at 6 PM on Sat, March 13, at Beach Lake Trails. Overflow on Beach and Clunie lakes forced us to shorten the 36-mile class to about 27 miles; the 20-miles was a pretty accurate 20.

2010 Eagle River Classic - Jan 16 & 17
Day 1: 14 mushers with open-class teams raced in the first heat of the Eagle River Classic, 16.1 miles at Beach Lake trails today. Tomorrow, they will return for Day 2; the race starts 1t 2 PM. Racers are vying for a share of the $3,000 purse and tuning up for the Exxon, Raven Electric, and World Championship races in Anchorage next month.

Day 2: Bill Kornmuller posted the fastest time on day 2 and overtook Michael Tetzner to win the Eagle River Classic today at Beach Lake Trails. Tetzner was second, and Daryl Hollingsworth took third.Final times and places are below:

The Chugiak Dog Mushers Association gives the highest priority to the welfare of the canine athletes that are our partners in the wonderful world of sled dog sports
Our mission is to promote the sports and educate the public on the sport of dog mushing.

The Chugiak Dog Musher's Association is a non-profit club dedicated to the sport of dog mushing. Many of the members are recreational mushers. Some are participants in the Iditarod Race, The Eagle River Classic, The Women's World Championship Races and the Fur Rondy to name a few. The major facility of the club is the Birchwood Dog Mushing Trail System. The trail system is located in the Chugiak area at the north end of Fort Richardson along Cook Inlet. The Club publishes a monthly newsletter that has items of interest for the local dog mushers
